Unless something changes - and that's always possible - we intend to haul the contents of a 10x10 storage unit to a different storage unit, and we need some folks to help do this. We'll have a truck, and we need you to help load and unload it.

We hope to start around noon, and I don't expect that this will take more than 3 hours?

Most of this is already packed, there are flatbeds (and elevator where needed) on either end.

I feel like 3 more people is a maximum we'll need to have this go fairly smoothly.

I don't know what the right amount to pay for this is, but this is a paid thing and we'll provide some food, too.

We'll be starting in Medford/Somerville and ending in Stoneham.

Comment here, or mail me (jailbait, gmail) if you're interested.

... because I don't have the time and energy... A lyrical paean to Urban Accessories and the lift I get every time I pass some of their hardware. I keep hoping Neenah Foundry will produce nicer stuff (and looking over their website, it seems they do, but then maybe it's just that no place I've been actually buys the nice stuff from Neenah?) and that the overall aesthetic quality of what I call Urban Artifacts (which includes mailboxes, hydrants, park benches, etc. etc.) will go up... but in the mean time, there's one popular vendor out there, and they keep making me happy.

... You see, my take on it is that the stickers/add-ons/etc. (at least when specific to the release in question) are part of the label/cover/zeitgeist and should thus be saved.

1 recommendation sought, 1 'keep an eye out for me'.

A) Who can name be a brand/model of keyboard/mouse arm they like? I need more than just a drawer - I'm set up with the monitor at the end of one leg of the L of my cube desk, not in the bend - and I need it to hold the mouse as well as the KB. I'm seeing prices in the Staples catalog from $120-$350 and I really can't tell what's any good.

and now for something completely different.
B) growing up, when corn-on-the-cob season rolled around, we always had a butter-applying device the likes of which I just can't find anymore: It looks kinda like a chimney and worked kinda like a deoderant applicator - it was about the 'diameter' of a stick of butter, and about half the length. You put the butter in it, put in the bottom 'press' in and then push the butter up to the top, where you'd rub it against the corn. (The top end had a cob-shaped notch in it for easy application.) When you were done, there was a little lid to keep the butter covered.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Have you seen them in the gadget store near you? Do you want to buy me one or 2 or 3 and I'll pay you back? Let me know!

Thanks!
