I have great trouble getting to sleep when my husband's away, because part of me seems to insist on waiting up for him. I KNOW when he's coming home, and I KNOW it's not tonight, and I tell myself over and over that he won't be back until X date, so just go to sleep, but some irrational part of me still wants to wait up for him.
Anyway, I know how it is. It seems to be part of being married, if you have a really close bond with your partner. I'm willing to pay this price for the delight of the really close bond. :-)
I can't fall asleep unless my husband is in the house. I do much BETTER is he is actually in the bed, but if I'm very tired I can fall asleep knowing he is downstairs and will be up soon. When he is gone I get little decent sleep - an overnite or weekend isn't too bad, thrice he has been gone for 6 weeks at a time and I became a zombie by the time he got back. The very worst is when he is hospitalized - it feels very wrong for him to be sleeping a few blocks up the street while I 'm at home in bed.

**Somehow, my ultra conservative significant other just wouldn't get the sincerely innocent nature of that sentiment.**

We should meet, though. Do you ever get to Providence, or even the Westport/Dartmouth area?
