Big Yellow Interrupts...

According to Cos:
"A fiber cut in Boston has taken down the CBC network, where my server and several of my friends' servers live. I have no access to my email until it is fixed, and they don't have an estimate on when that will be."

LSE, mahonkin, hurlbutnet and a number of others are certainly part of that collection.

To LSE's users, you now know as much as I do.

To people trying to reach LSE's users, sorry. We'll be back eventually.

EDIT: Oh, and, well, 3 mailing lists that many people I know are on (and that I administer) are down, too. <sigh>
EDIT2: Ok, I'd forgotten that 2 of those lists have a backup, which is still working, though who knows at what efficiency...

Heh. I've got a few lists down too. Ah well.

Go! Go! gadget backhoe!

the 2 lists that have a backup appear to be using relatively recent data, and
people shouldn't notice a difference in service at all, perhaps other than
different headers.

I have not heard any uptime estimates yet. I did hear that it was a major
fiber cut between the prudential center and government center.

Thanks for passing this on. Us other CBC hangers-on appriciate it.
