Interesting choice

That's a ballsy ad campaign for you...

yeah, I'm not the target market, but it certainly filled me with derision.

water, eh?

I bet they don't run this campaign in India. I was also pretty OMG about it.

Eh, most anything organic is comprised mostly of water.

This reminds me a lot of the movie Crazy People, though.

yeah, but pure water is tasteless, so it's saying either "we lie to you" or "we can't do math".

[identity profile] whitebird.livejournal.com 2007-09-22 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
They're completely admitting that it's not pure water. And "100% taste", is about the same as saying "Giving 110%." Sure, it makes no logical sense, but, lots of cliches don't.

I'm the world's worst Diet Coke addict, and I've been totally mocking those ads. They actually disappeared pretty damn quick.

I've always said it was flavoured, coloured, sweetened water. Also, having worked in restaurants and the like, yeah mostly water.

(Don't mind me: I don't have anything to say about Diet Coke*, I just wanted an excuse to show off my newly augmented userpic, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] majordomo.)

*Laurence Olivier, otoh, does.

<LAUGH!!!>

it's funny that they vanished so quick -- i looked at it and thought "hm, they're trying the truth for a change. how novel."

(yes, real water has no taste, but then again, neither do their marketing people, so enh.)

See, I thought it was ballsy at first. Then I thought "maybe they're subtly saying "but the other 1% makes ALL the difference in the world, and that's why you want to pay for it".
Then I laughed at myself for following the ad company's non-linear logic so quickly. Hey, at least I'm thinking!
