In a previous entry I discussed how I thought the inverter board on my Apple Powerbook-FW (Pismo) had died.

The new one arrived today.

This seems to not be the issue...
I got the new one and installed it.

Still no joy. However, and I don't know if this is just something I missed with the other one as I plugged it in too soon, or what, but the power LED - which stays dark on poweron - goes to pulsing when the machine sleeps.

Help! Please? If there are any more reasonably cheap parts I could try swapping in, or other useful diagnostics I could try (does external video have anything to do with the inverter? It seems unlikely,
but... (I haven't tried hooking up external monitors to the Pismo with the new board. Should I?))

Unfortunately, I'm unemployed and short on cash, but if there's something that's in the $20-30 that might do the trick, I'll be happy to try it...
