I've bought my ticket for the Fenway 13. It's a 7 pm show and I hope to be there no later than 6:15, but might be later.
I hope to see some of you there!

I want to go see this - http://ntlive.nationaltheatre.org.uk/productions/16546-frankenstein - on Wednesday as a birthday outing, and I'd like y'all to come with me. :)

Assuming it's not all sold out, which would be better: Fenway, Revere, or Burlington?
I'm leaning towards Fenway, but I'd listen to other opinions. :)

No, I haven't figured out who's playing the Monster that night.

I know it's Halloween Party Night, but I'm in the mood for a movie.
At the Capitol Theatre in Arlington, tonight at 9:45, The Guard
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1540133/

We're also going to go out to Emma's sometime beforehand, but I'm not going to try to organize anything there, I'm just going to be there around 6pm.

Hope to maybe see a few of you someplace...

So, anyone want to join me for a bowl of soup someplace tonight?

I'm thinking reasonably early - 6-6:30ish.

I haven't even started thinking about WHERE yet, but I sort of want to contribute to the opening weekend numbers. I'm thinking of an evening - 7-or-later showtime.

Let me know. :)

It's VERY cold out. As much as I'd like to see the various people who are hosting parties, and the people who are seeing them, I don't think I can drag myself out tonight.

If, by any odd chance you are out and about and by an odder chance you see this, AND you want to come by to say hi, maybe have a cup of tea or something - I have no stock of party food laid in, having not planned on hosting anything, but we can probably manage something.

Call me on 617-Nice-Zen if you're coming over, as I may not be in range to hear the doorbell.

OH! Be careful on the porch... it's prone to being slick in this sort of weather.

Kimberly has asked me to make sure her version of the invite gets wider distribution, so here it goes :) (with a few minor corrections)  :

Bring your sense of whimsy & plenty of hugs to help us celebrate JB's 40th birthday on Saturday, October 27th at the Silber-Lefton house between 2p.-the wee hours. Note location is Melrose, not GLSE. We hope that the timeframe allows folks to attend in a way that accomodates other social events & family schedules. Come early, come late, come & go - whatever works for you.

Costumes are encouraged but not required. Small prizes will be awarded for most creative, funniest &
Gorey-esque attire (aim for the neat mix of Victorian-Goth featured in much of Edward Gorey's art & work).
JB will also have a big bowl of treats for anyone who wants to trick-or-treat but those not in costume may have to tell him a joke or perform a magic trick for their treat! We will also entertain suggestions for new nicknames for JB, though he reserves veto rights.

I'll be providing some soup, bread, cheese, other assorted munchables, spiced cider, etc. There will be birthday cake, likely served around 8:30p. {Mostly, though, this is a potluck. Feel free to bring something, but also remember to take it with you.}

Kids are welcome. No smoking. Please be respectful of the space, stuff, people & pets of the house. The Silber-Leftons are graciously loaning us their home for this party - if you have questions for a host, please see Kimberly or Sam.

I'm turning 40 this year. Woo hoo!
It's time to party. Please come and join me!

Saturday, October 27th, from 2pm-later.

In a quest to not cause crushing, heat exhaustion and other unpleasantries, we have made arrangements with Scott and Rachel to have the party at their house in Melrose. Hopefully the weather will be reasonable and it will be an indoor-outdoor party most of the day, but even if it's more like late November rather than late October, there's more room there than at the current Lab, so come and have fun!
If you need address or directions to Scott & Rachel's just let us know.

We'll be supplying a reasonable amount of food, but everything's better when it's potluck! :) We're not going to try to organize who brings what, but if you want to make me happy, you'll leave out bell peppers and mushrooms. (Of course, it's not like I have to eat everything, but still...:)

I know this is the weekend before Halloween and that there are almost certainly other parties going on that night. That's fine! Come by before, come by after. Come by in costume, or come by in plain-clothes.
The important part is that you come by! :) A prize to anyone who dresses in some Gorey-esque fashion (no, not blood&gore but that neat mix of Victorian-Goth as drawn so well by Edward Gorey)

Presents are not at all required, but who would I be to forbid them? :)

I hope you'll be able to make it!

JB's 40th Birthday Party is being brought to you by JBDU, Kimberlogic, with gracious contributions by Roozle/Sunspiral Facilities and a cast of at least 2!

(Note: Scott and Rachel are not the hosts of this party. All organization and hosting is being done by JB & Kimberly.)

So, I've gotten a bunch of new games recently, as well as having a pile I've not had a chance to play recently.

Is anyone interested in coming over tonight and playing games?

I'm thinking of something around 7ish.

PLEASE reply here, and check back on this post to see if it's happening. If I get no replies, or only 1 or 2, I may decide to go to a movie or something else.

CURRENT STATUS: Ok. Let's do this.
HOWEVER: I'm reminded that Laurie is sick. She's not hacking/sneezing/spewing up phlegm, but she's not healthy (IE: I expect she's not contagious, but I can't promise)... Sorry I'd forgotten that.
