I got to sleep around 3:30-4 last night. That was ok.

However, being woken up at 9am by my foot (really my big toe) hurting again is NOT ok.

As well, having my face break out in the itchy psoriasis thing again a couple of hours later is REALLY NOT ok.

Finally, the wet raspiness in my breathing is not good, either.

Time to see the Dr. again on monday (or soon) to get back on allopurinol - I think my soon-to-be-ending health insurance has a 3 month mail-order Rx plan - and to have the rest of it looked at.

Sigh. My body never used to do this. I felt just fine yesterday (other than the raspiness) when I was outside walking around...

...a 60g tube of Dermatop E Emollient Cream which is prednicarbate emollient cream 0.1%

That means that each gram of the goo in the tube contains 1mg of prednicarbate.

The 60 g tube thus contains 60mg of active ingredient.

This tube, were I not to have health insurance, as I may very well not after 4/30, would cost about $100 retail. As it is, it cost $35 with BCBS Rx coverage.

So, that's $100/60mg of active ingredient. That's $166 for 100mg. That's $1666 per GRAM.

If my face isn't better within 15 seconds of applying this stuff, I'm going to be upset.

That it comes in a simple petrolatum base to be applied in a thin film and rubbed in gently, rather than, say, in a pure platinum applicator mask, is very disappointing.

If anyone can document for me any legitimate development cost that makes for a material that costs $755,984.85 per POUND, I'd love to know about it...

So, I've got this Mac. I've also got this livejournal account and occasional denizens of my friends list who use phoneposting. LJ encodes phone posts as .ogg files. That's fine with me.

I've got the Ogg QT component. It works. QT player can play ogg files. However, NOTHING I do will get it to deal happily.

(Note: At the moment, my browser is Firefox. I may well switch to Opera 7.5(t3) soon. Safari does about 85-90% of what I want, but I miss the last 10-15% too much.)

So anyway:
Firefox Problem: I can not make firefox open oggs in QT player. When I go to pick an app to open the file with, QTP is grayed out. I have been unable to find a prefs file to edit to force the choice the gui won't let me have.

OSX Problems: My system has decided that oggs are opened with Amadeus II. This is not what I want. From time to time, I take an ogg file, CMD-I/Get Info it, change the app under 'Open with:' to QTP (after manually selecting 'all apps' rather than 'preferred apps') and then hit the 'Change All...' button to 'Use this application to open all documents like this.'

I don't get a QT icon on any of the files - I get a blank document icon.

I /can/ double-click on any existing oggs to open them in QTP.

I can NOT drag-n-drop them on to QTP's dock icon, app icon or a running player to launch them.

I have a pretty solid guarantee that future downloads of oggs will end up 'owned' by Amadeus II.

Anyone have any clue? Thanks!
