My foot is un-bandaged!
The summary of the bone scan is "unremarkable". :)
For various reasons - including being on vacation through the 2nd, I was unable to get in touch with my podiatrist until yesterday, and that wasn't so successful, either.
I called yesterday. They said they'd have him call me. Nothing.
I called again today. They were surprised he hadn't called me yesterday.
He called back a bit later, gave me the very quick summary and said that he wanted to do a followup and why hadn't it been scheduled for sooner.
I said that the only time the office had was tomorrow and I couldn't bail out of work on the day I was leaving for Vegas.
He said "so I'll have them find time today. I'm the boss. I can do that."
So I went in, he cut off the bandage, told me that the bright spot on my 3rd metatarsal was actually at the joint between the metatarsal and the cuneiform bones, and might be minor arthritic activity (or might not be), but wasn't related to the foot pain, which was probably just a strain/sprain. He told me to go get some OTC orthotics, which I'm to wear (as much as possible) in Vegas and he'll shape for best effect next Thu. (shape following the wear patterns I put in them over the week.)
I stopped through home to get my other sandal and a sock, went to Skendarian for the orthotics, and now I'm back at work - though leaving soon for a board meeting.

You can see a labeled diagram of the bones of the foot at http://www.podiatrychannel.com/Images/ftbns_tpvw.gif
(The FC4 spelling dictionary wants 'orthotics' to be either 'Orthodox' or, more appropriately, 'arthritics'. :)
