Bike for me...

About 22 miles, including:
Around the Fresh Pond Reservoir, along the Charles to where the bikepath ends in Watertown, across the river, back along it on the Boston side, through the really very nice park area that I've driven by Many many times, all the way down to the Longfellow bridge, back to the Smoot Bridge, across, along the river and Mem. Dr. back to the home side of Harvard Sq. and then to home.

It would have been perfect at 5 deg. cooler, and without whatever got into my left eye while I was going around the reservoir.

Thanks to Joanne for suggesting the ride.

I *really* need a new bike saddle. Soon.
On the other hand, my total for the day was about 25 miles of biking,
plus an hour and a half (almost) of dancing.
And the quilt's almost done that I started earlier this morning.

Good day. Thanks for joining me for the biking.

sounds like fun. I missed out on biking today but got other stuff done. If the cats wake me up early in the morning, I'll do my 25 miles then.

Cheers!

cool! Only the MDC bikepath doesn't end in Watertown. It goes all the way to Waltham Center, and actually slightly beyond, to a cemetary which (if you're like me) you cut through to get to Brandeis. :) But, yah, fun ride! I've done that one lots.

Sorry, mod that to: "Where the bikepath stops running along the river." :)

OK. according to:

http://www.massbike.org/bikeways/bikebos.htm

Watertown Square is in fact, where the "Paul Dudley White Charles River Bikepath" ends. However, the MDC (which owns the path) has extended it to Moody St. in Waltham, as I said above. And the city of Waltham has a path between the commuter rail and the Charles River from Moody to Prospect St., and then you can (well, not legally) bike through Mt. Feake Cemetary.

The continuation of the path from Watertown Square goes between Pleasant St. and the Charles River.
