My knee

Anyone ever gone to sleep fine but been woken up by the pain of a knee that's suddenly fucked up?

It doesn't straighten out all the way and thus it hurts to walk normally on it.

There's no swelling, no tenderness, no sensitivity to anything other than near-complete extension.

Fucked up.

(The Dr. said Naproxyn for 2-4 days, take it easy and if it isn't better by then, we'll look at imaging it.

It's possible that you fell asleep with the knee bent and got some sort of muscle cramp or what I like to call a "bubble" in the joint.

I know exactly the feeling you are describing and it usually goes away in a day to a few days. Just take it easy, I guess.

Sorry to hear about your knee! No fun.

I had a really funny dream about you night before last. We were dating (though I still had kids and was married to sandro) and Cos kept getting into trouble with the law. Oh, and you got a mullet haircut and spiral ring curles down the back. Finally some nasty villans got Cos, and I was so annoyed that he couldn't keep his act together enough to not get kidnapped. So I changed into (instantly) my super-hero spandex and dashed off to rescue him, and you said "that's my girl!" and that was the end of the dream.

I have *no* idea where that came from!

from experience...

just because you can't *see* the swelling externally, does not mean something internal to the joint is swelling. could be the micromuscles holding stuff together on the inside of the joint are what are swelling, and putting pressure on the nerves and ligaments.

if you can, ice it for 10-15 minutes, followed by a few minutes of slow, weight free stratching (try sitting and just lifting and straightening the leg) every hour for a couple of hours, and see if that helps. if it does, that supports (doesn't *prove*, just supports) the idea of deeper swelling than you can see.
