Originally (and when all comments were made) this post read:
> (Simmons College, that is?)
> There's this job I want...
> Yes, my resume is in already...
then I tried to make a new post today, that read:
> So I seem to have started having a gout attack...the 1st one in a fairly long time.
> YAY! Or something. Time for some food to buffer a heap of NSAIDs.
but it never showed up on my friends list after being posted...so I went back in my client and I hit 'edit previous post' (which brought up the 2nd text, above) and changed the date and reposted.
Only this time, it overwrote THIS post.
Sigh.
Still going to try to make a new entry of it somehow...

Date: 2004-02-03 05:44 pm (UTC)the OIT department at simmons is going through some... changes. it's better than it was before, but it's still not great. there is the potential for the job environment to suck despite the twinkle and glow of the job description.
i'd say definitely apply, then go into the interview with lots of questions, especially about organizational culture and organizational hierarchy. the new director is making some wonderful changes, but the underlings have a while yet to catch up with his wonderfulness.
just my $10. :)
Re: i feel compelled to warn you
Date: 2004-02-03 10:28 pm (UTC)The biggest question is: How do I get past the HR drones to the interview stage? At the moment, I have an auto-generated "Thanks for your resume, we'll let you know" letter. Do you know someone you can poke for me?
I'll bless your name forever...:)
Thanks for the input, though. Really.
