Strip Apples-To-Apples, rev. 1.0

Just like normal Apples To Apples, except:

A) Everyone (not the judge) plays a card.
B) The judge picks not only a winner for each round, but a loser.
C) The winner gets the green card. The loser strips.

as played:
D) If you're naked, you keep playing, but if you lose the round, you lose a green card from your winning stash.
E) When the last person is naked, the person with the most green cards is the winner, the one with the fewest, the loser.

Unanswered questions:
If you're naked and run out of green cards, then what?
What does the winner get? What happens to the loser.
Would it be better to have you leave the game when you're naked?

And, as ever, there is the question of forfeits/winning and losing. I'm no good with those, having never played Truth Or Dare or Spin The Bottle as a kid, or a teen, or (mostly) as an adult.

I should see if there are any good 'forfeit game' websites...

How does the "everyone (not jus the judge) plays a card (adjecive?) part work? Does everyone play a noun for every green card? what does that serve?

it's a pretty common variant in regular apples to apples too. Everyone but the person playing the green card puts in a noun, leaving people more time to decide on cards, and-in this case-forcing everyone to put a card in, even if they think theirs might be the losing card.

A) It's 'everyone (not the judge)', so 'everyone who isn't the judge'.
B) It's a house rule...they don't like playing it as a speed test.

And if the judge thinks you’re really hot, you’re the loser no matter how good your card is.

Nope. As in the regular game, the cards are tossed into a pile and if you can track who tossed in what, you shouldn't. The judging is blind.

-This variant is, of course, called "Nipples to Nipples".

What a weird failure in reading comprehension that was on my part. I get it, now. Way better.

some of us who are comfortable going skyclad in public, feel that this complex method of getting naked is about as silly as making an eloborate production out of , oh say, brewing tea.

Hmm, so much for Apples to Apples being our default game to play with friends and the kids.... (Of course it's a custom version with the standard cultural references replaced by our own cultural references.)

Not that the kids would mind strip A2A, but there might be a lot of confusing subtext they didn't quite grok.

/me directs his brain elsewhere.

Hey, no stripping at Games Day! specially without notice or with any kids around

You just have to be clear in advance which version of Apples to Apples you are playing. No strip A2A without full consent or something.

Although in this picture (as in the one I have of you skyclad) you're hiding behind the propane shower!

Making stripping an elaborate ritual makes it far more fun!

::makes mental note to practice doing so

Wait, the normal way to play doesn't involve everybody but the judge throwing in a noun? How's it done otherwise?

last person to throw in, er, doesn't get to throw in.

in other words, the round ends when one person hasn't thrown in a card. it's supposed to encourage people to choose quickly, but i don't think i've ever played that way.

D) If you're naked, you keep playing, but if you lose the round, you lose a green card from your winning stash.

What happens to their green card?  Does it go to the winner?  A discard pile?  (do they get deported if they don't have a green card?)
