In different news, I was pulling up to the light at Highland when I got to witness a car-flipping t-bone. Someone coming up Willow the other way blew through the light and rammed someone else. The rammed vhicle ended up on the sidewalk outside the corner store, upside down, just touching the window. Noone was seriously hurt, amazingly enough. The store window didn't break.

The cops had already been called by the time I got through on 911 (within 45sec), and within 3m there were 3-4 cop cars, a fire truck, and an ambulance.

It was an small-suv vs small-suv accident, which probably explains why they both made it out ok.

The driver who was hit was helped out of the vehicle by onlookers...I'm
guessing she was already removing herself by the time got up to
her, so I wasn't too worried about neck/back injuries.

The guy who hit her had NY plates and an SUV full of stuff... I'd have to guess he was moving in our out of someplace.

I left my name and number with the cops and continued on my way.

I've heard nothing from them yet.

That'll wake you up in the morning.

(If anyone sees any local news coverage of what happened, I'd like to know...)

Or not. That's about 50 feet from my house and as was noted this afternoon I slept through the entire incident.

All in all, it wasn't very loud...surprisingly enough it was mostly a muffled thump and some crunches.

FWIW I recomend giving your contact info to the person who was hit too.

I was in a similar accident in LA where someone hit me when he ran through a red light. You would think this would be an obvious case, he was very appologetic, folks who saw it gave their numbers to the cops, two people gave *me* their witness info/numbers (okay they were both guys looking very single, but still...). Later, the guy tried to say it wasn't his fault, that I drove out into the street before my light was green! The police didn't keep/have any of the numbers people gave them. However because I had the two numbers of people who did witness it I still won the case. I would not have otherwise. (Just to add to the oddness of the story, the guy who hit me then died -from an unrelated problem- before paying damages.)

Actually if he gave it to the police, it'll be on the police report that both parties will get, so they can fill out their insurance reports. Been there done that.

even with the tendency of SUV's to roll over, i'm impressed that this accident managed a rolled-over vehicle -- it's fairly straight, but it's still a narrow side-street.

Unrelated, nothing. The Law of Three will bite you in the ass every time. >:-)

There is nothing quite like the sound of two cars hitting each other. *shudder*
