So, after work last night, went out with a couple of Cirque folks to Good Times.
In the course of conversation, I mentioned that, if I wanted to leave my life behind for a month or so, I'd go and follow the show down to DC as I'd have plenty of places to stay, given the pittance they pay. (Ok, it's a reasonable grunt-labor hourly wage, but the hours are usually 20/week or fewer... this does not make for a good living wage.)
I was then asked if I would happen to know anyone up to putting up 1-3 travelers for the time the show's in DC.
I'm not sure who's being enquired for, other than John, the guy I was talking about.
Everyone I've met has been fairly nice at least, though I have no idea what most of them are like on the off-hours. Most seem fairly vanilla, for many values of the word.
I don't know what they'd be up to paying (I think a reasonable number are sharing $30/night hotel rooms up here...) for the lodging.
If you want to talk to them, let me know, and I'll put you in touch.
Oh...Metro accessibility would probably be preferable, as renting a car's another expense they don't really need.
Perqs would certainly include access to discount tickets, maybe discount merch.

Date: 2004-08-16 09:37 pm (UTC)I have some interest in the last show of the run, myself. Of course, it's during worldcon... but we'll see how I decide to shuffle that...
