So, I have 4 really nice tie dyed t-shirts, 3 from these folks - later 'this guy' - from central VA, dba Yakshi, one from some unknown source.

Unfortunately, all 4 of them are dying from age and wear. More unfortunately, Yakshi's no longer doing clothing - the last time I saw him, he was only doing large art hangings.

So who's got a source of exceedingly good tie-dyed t-shirts they want to share?

(Yes, I know. I don't ACTUALLY need any more t-shirts... but I'd like to have some good tie-dye... And hell, if they have some really exquisite fabrics, maybe I'll have Maxwell's make me a tie-dyed formal shirt next time they're in town. ;)

If I had more time before I left, I am a source of exceedingly good tie dyed shirt. As well as some duds. But mostly good. I learned to dye from someone who dyed with the Dead. I consider that a fairly good provenance for my skills.

Wild Child Tie-Dyes is a mom-and-pop business located in Pelham (about 3 miles from our house, in fact!). They're at a lot of the folk festivals and such. I've got three of her shirts so far and really like them. Their new organic shirts are very comfortable. Great colors and nice people.

I was wondering if it was in the kinda outdoor spaces, those kinda come and go. If you can come up with a name, would appreciate it a lot :)

Pike Place Market is at the waterfront end of Pike St in downtown Seattle. It's a permanent set of buildings with lots of random little shops in them.

[livejournal.com profile] flyingwolf will be peddling her tie-dyed wares on Dealer's Row at Arisia. Not sure if her stuff is up your alley or not.

So glad you asked this question JB, as I am in the same situation. All my good tie dye is suffering from lots of wear and tear. Will be checking out the links in the replies :)

Portland Saturday Market usually has some pretty good stuff - I'd try checking out craft fair type stuff around Boston. That seems to be where the really good people sell stuff, often.

You beat me to it — by far my favorite tie-die shirt I've gotten in 20 years is one I picked up at Portland Saturday Market a couple of years ago.

Really good tie-dye
