On the bog-standard brought-in working lunch!

.. and sausage pies!

Yum!

I'm trying to remember if I've ever had a Scotch egg sober

You can keep the Scotch egg to yourself, but if I were there I might try to finagle a bite of sausage pie! Mmmm...

Cool. The joys of other cultures' standard working lunches. :)

(I'm more fond of the sausage pies than the scotch eggs myself but they're not bad.)

Scotch Eggs are one of my favorites. There's a stall at the local Farmer's Market that sells baked ones with a bit of some kind of toasted grain mixed into the sausage and they're one of the best reasons I've found to get up early on a Saturday. By 10am, they're long gone.

And I'd love a report on St. John; Henderson's writing is amazing but I haven't made it to the restaurant yet. (Try the fried pig tails!)
