Carter Beats The Devil, by Glen David Gold

Though not in my normal realm of Genre Fiction, quite a wonderful piece of work on many levels.
Romance, loss and recovery.
Magic Geeking.
Speculations on American History.
and all in all, just much fun in the storytelling.
