What's the longest roadtrip you've ever taken for a concert?
For me:
I think my longest distance/shortest time musical roadtrip records are: Car: DC->NYC for The Oyster Band - Up Sunday AM, nap at a friends, go to the show, drive back leaving monday, 2am, and go to work. Flying:Boiled In Lead, 3/17/93? Fly in 3/17, go to the show, stay at an airport hotel and fly back the next day.
Then there's going to Seattle for WOMAD, but that was a 3 day festival. :)
Then there was driving to Philly (from DC) to see BiL, and THEN flying to BOS to drive to NH to see them at Farmstock (the next day?) and then flying back to philly and driving home.

DC -> London (and Cambridge and Wolverhampton and Cardiff) to see the Oysterband. It was at least a fairly long trip. =)

If you read the story about my Whitlams groupie experience, you'll find that over 4 days I drove from Boston to Montreal to Ottawa to Toronto to see the band in all those towns and then returned home by way of Buffalo. That was in May 1999.

I've also gone from Boston to London and then to Sidmouth (on the Devon coast) to see Steeleye Span play at the Sidmouth International Folk Festival, but I guess that only sorta counts because that was a happy bit of serendipity during a trip to the UK with my parents in the summer of 1999.

[livejournal.com profile] cos and I drove up to Toronto for the 1st annual Moxy Fruvous convention.

We left at 3 am Saturday morning (friday night), got into Toronto around 11 am, slept until noon, showered, went to the convention, came back, ate dinner, went to another concert, got in at 2 am Sunday, slept until 9 am, bought sugar coke, and drove back. I was home by 9 pm Sunday.

Although I will bet that [livejournal.com profile] cos has a better one, but he's in Finland right now.
