While helping Cee and Molly and David move today, when someone who hadn't been there before was suddenly there helping, I had this idea:

Guerrilla Moving Theater:

You're driving along. You see some people moving boxes into a house. You park and either pull the already made box you have in your back seat, or you construct the flat box you have waiting for this very occasion, get out of the car and haul the box into the house, along with everyone else who is similarly helping move.

You say hi to folks. If you can identify the folks who are living there, you wish them luck. Then you leave/vanish as quietly as possible.

Eventually, they'll discover the box you've left for them. Ideally it's full of really random stuff. Nothing harmful/distasteful.

You enjoy the feeling of having made someone's world just a little more.

Excellent!

You'd have to be really slick about it, especially if you know none of the moving group, and most especially if they're not from some similar demographic.

Ideally, the box would have cookies and yummy things and a Mysterious Message from a Stranger...

But, but...

Um, I thought this was a fairly common thing (joke? prank? art?) to do, when helping friends move. At least, last time I moved (admittedly, seven years ago), a box labelled "radioactive widgets" and containing a teddy bear appeared amongst my stuff. (yes, I checked the bear with a geiger counter. it wasn't).
