with memes that require reader response...is you're going to completely dilute your chances of getting any responses if you all post the same thing at the same time...only one person should post a given "Tell me about me" survey any given week. If someone else just posted it, let it sit for a while before you post it, elsewise, how are your respondants going to decide who should get their valuable time for a response?

actually, that can be considered as an implicit question 0: do you give enough of a damn about the questioner to give your valuable time to respond to them? (as far as the recent meme goes, that's really one of the more interesting questions to it.)

the questions you ask yourself first

Do I give enough of a damn about my friends to write something original that merits commentary?
do I want to just cut and paste a meme but expect unique feedback, that took significantly more time and consideration than my role of propogating a meme, or else I will declare myself clearly someone for whom they don't give enough a damn?

this makes no sense if remove the original teaspoonful of context: "someone for whom they don't give enough of a damn **to spend the time answering the questions**". which may or may not say whether they give enough of a damn to help you move, help you move bodies, comment on your original materials, cook for you, come to your party, read your journal. give you the time of day, or anything else. but taken in context, it's essentially tautological.

in my own tiny experience of this, more people have responded to the question-meme than typically respond to my original posts. i'm not surprised, since my original posts are rarely so specific in providing the reader with something to do; there's more of an investment required if they have to figure that out for themselves.

in my own tiny value-system, i appreciate both kinds of responses.

see... I'd rather answer these questions *while* helping you move bodies...

(like last time...)

generally, answering the questions don't prove much in terms of emotional stuff, other than someone is bored, or, more likely, avoiding some other task.

wanting responses I understand, which is why I responded at all.

I don't know - I posted the recent one because I thought i'd be fun to see if anyone responded and how if they did and because I'd found myself interested enough to respond to a couple already. I never expect responses to those that I post mostly because unless it interests me I don't tend to respond to other memes. I responded to a total of 4 of this meme before I realized I had to go work on some christmas projects but this meme interested me more than most.

Surprisingly enough I've had about 3-4 people respond and they aren't all my immediate close friends which is rather nifty actually.

It's a long one, yes.

I've responded to people who I would like to have respond to mine.

with the recent one I was considering cutting out most of the questions and adding a few of my own. I do that most times when I copy persistant memes like that.
