I have my CPAP and humidifier.

I know how to reset it if I don't like the pressure. I was not told or shown how to do so by the person who brought it to me.

We'll see if a 6' hose is long enough.

They tell me that, for the 1st week or 2 it's not at all surprising if I end up waking up, ipping the mask off may face, going "GAH! I can't stand this!" and going back to sleep.

So, then, tonight it starts...

(I wonder how hard it'd be to hack the CPAP onto a gas mask...probably not very...)

almost certainly not, but keep this in mind:

1. if the CPAP mask isn't comfortable to sleep in initially, the gas mask would be worse.

2. the CPAP mask is designed for maintaining a specific air pressure being forced into your body; changing to a larger mask may alter that pressure in ways the pump isn't equipped to handle (it's been a few years since i last looked closely at one).

not sayin' don't do it, just making sure you're thinking about *all* the angles.

Thank you, oh helpful one. :)

Take a look at:

and then someone else was posting their gasmask scene stuff earlier today...so I just had to bring it up again. :)

sweetie, i don't have time to keep up with what appears in most of my *current* flist, let alone going back to read everyone's archives :)

what you post, i respond to (when i have time to respond) as current... so there you go. it may be old news to everyone else, but that ain't my issue :)

There's a reason I gave you the link, oh lame dear one.

(of course, there are a couple of entries of mine I think you should read, but I'll point you at them later. :)

it's not exactly effective nor efficient communications to mock me for being "helpful", *then* point me at archival footage, dearest.

and yes, if you've got specific stuff you think i'd like to read, by all means, point away... just save the mocking until *after* i'm caught up to date on whatever it is, please and thanks...

But...but...

I've been mocking you for far lesser reasons for something like...at least 14 years? Why should I suddenly aim for _efficiency_ in my mocking?

(I'll note that you're not alone in actually providing 'useful' input... Ah, my friends...)

because some of us evolve, dear ;-)

after four years of living with J, and everything that entailed, my standards of mocking are now much, *MUCH* higher {weg}

in particular, the cpap expects a certain level of air *outflow* from the mask to get the required pressure level. the gas mask is likely to have a different level of outflow and would take - at a minimum - a whole whole lot of calibration and tweaking.

if your cpap mask is like the ones i've used, the velcro stretchy stuff stretches over time, so you have to occasionally re-tighten it.
