Because I've always thought of you as one of the central figures in our social scene, and because ever since I first saw you in person dancing around the field at Farmstock (I forget who you were with, may very well have been kimberlogic) I thought to myself "There's somebody comfortable with himself and his place in the world" - a rare thing in these dark days of insecurity and persistent gloom.

It was, in fact, me. One of my favorite (and many-numbered) memories of time with my bunnylove. He is an excellent dancer :) He actually recorded (he plays flute) a version of a BiL song for me to walk down the aisle to ... :)

You are one of the small handful of people I see these days whom I've known since dirt was new. It gives me great pleasure that we are in each other's social circle again. I believe our relationship has run a huge portion of the available range for relationships, and seeing you makes me smile that you are still here. It would make me very sad to lose touch with you, and since I socialize in cycles or bursts, between long periods of apparent hibernation (or burying myself in work) LJ is a good way for me to at least feel as though I've kept up with people.

I respect you. Through you I see little parts of the world I might not see otherwise. You enjoy and respect artists and musicians with an open-hearted joy and un-flinching depth of fascination so that even if we are not interested in the same artists and musicians I am happy to hear about yours. You notice and care about details.

I occasionally check your "friends" list, too, because I believe you know just about everybody, so I'm likely to be able to find other people I know through you, and because I think of you as someone who is likely to somehow find the cool rss feeds, and I can skim them off you, too.

I love you. Despite trials and tribulations, you still touch me, amuse me, push me to grow, think, view things from a different perspective. Because you are one of my favorite people in the world and I always want to know what's on your mind, in your heart, your troubles and amusements. And because you're up later and often post funny things that I get to read in the morning when you are sleeping. :) You are, as ever, my bunnylove.

We met at Hippy's Bastille Day party oh-so-long-ago. I had such a great time that weekend! When we did the same convention circuit, I'd see you regularly. Now I hardly ever see you, but enjoy hearing what's happening in your life. LJ is a wonderful resource. I think I noticed you on Glenn's Friends list when I first stumbled across LJ.

We met at AKAM just after I had graduated from MIT, and you struck me as one of those nice-but-straightforward people who would speak his mind, and as a person that I could definitely learn from, both technologically and personally. I still have the bat you gave me to hang in my very first cubicle. :)

I am no longer in the New England area, having relocated to CO with Padraic and the kids (I have two now). I like LJ a lot because I get to keep in touch with the people I have met through various channels, instead of slowly lose touch as the miles become too far to cross.
