I think the analog to "bracing cold" would be "foo HEAT" not foo hot.

first, I agree with jen above. second, my answer depends on your opinion. I also briefly considered 'soporific', but was looking for something a little more positive, which bracing implies...

And I somehow hit 'return' too soon when I was messing about. Bracing cold is to ... hmmm ... blazing hot? blistering heat?

Reading the rest of the answers, I like "steamy" and "torrid". They both convey "hot!" but also have positive connotations.

Searing wasn't quite want I ment to say, tho scorching is. However, after reading others suggestions, I'd like to officially change my answer to 'torrid'. K?

And fyi, WTF is up with people typing in 'bracing is to cold as COLD is to hot'?!? WTF?!? -H...

After reading the answers, I think I'm in the minority in my understanding of the question.

I read it as "bracing" as something you do to prepare yourself for something "cold" (weather, specifically, though I guess it could be ice cream). What is it that you do to prepare yourself for something hot?

And I'm not fully awake, but really... the best answer I've come up with so far is... bracing.

I can't think of what "bracing cold" would be.

bracing
adj : imparting vitality and energy; "the bracing mountain air"
[syn: brisk, energizing, energising, fresh, refreshing, refreshful, tonic]

What motivated you to wander back into my journal? :)

okay, valid... but tsk, I like my interpretation better :)

two things: a recent post of yours for which I lacked context. and a recent post made by someone else which was a pointer to an old post of his which I hadn't read because I didn't know back then that he had a journal.

insert grammar correctness as you see fit because I'm too tired to.
