Uncle Bonsai are performing in Purchase, NY (Near where 15/Merritt Pkwy/Hutchinson River Pkway hits the NY/CT border).

I haven't seen them since about '88.

I love them.

However: There's a LOT of rain between here and there (ok, at the moment CT is fairly dry, but PA/NJ are very wet and it's all heading NY/CT-ward), and the tickets are $30.

I really shouldn't do this.

Right?

... especially not alone...

I wouldn't.

Flood warnings for what looks like everything from Western Mass downward towards Hartford.. your drive through Connecticut would be extraordinarily suckful, with potential for blinding rain and or road closure eitage.

hmmm

Git ye gone there now. Don't pass up the opportunity. The roads you'll need are not likely to be flooded; here where it's been raning for days, we've only had minor flooding so far, all on small backroads and around the Tidal Basin. Enjoy!

You could always travel 84 to 684 instead of the hutch....maybe a bit longer, but those roads aren't at all prone to flooding (not sure about the hutch...it's pretty, but I've always tried to avoid it since it's often so trafficy).

Why not have a little adventure?

Go. The worst thing that could happen is that you have a good story about why you didn't make it.

Okay, the WORST thing is WE have a good story.

Eh, if I were in your shoes, I'd probably do it. Especially if I thought I'd be able to buy tickets at the door, in case I didn't actually make it to the concert.

The rain's already been through here, and while there were times when it was a massive deluge, mostly it was fine.

That seems like a really steep ticket price for Uncle Bonsai, but I wouldn't punt on account of the drive.
