Kissing...

A conversation tonight got me wondering...

By 'kiss', I mean: more than a peck or more than you'd do with family... not necessarily all the way to making out, but more along that line than the former.

(It was also my intention, despite the phrasing - and yeah, ok, I should have made it more xor than I did, probably one question and 4 radio buttons - that people would answer ONLY one of the 1st 2 questions, as - to my mind - you can't be BOTH mono- AND bi-sexual.
So read them each as a question exclusively for the sexual-preference named in the question. If you're bi, you don't answer the mono poll, and vice versa. Thanks!)

See, I had a problem with that question too, but decided to answer it like I thought you meant, as opposed to how you phrased it.

Well, it's possible to truthfully answer false to both questions:

I am monosexual, and I have never kissed a member of the inappropriate sex

I answered 'false' because I'm not monosexual.

I am bisexual, but have only ever kissed a member of one sex

I answered 'false' because I've kissed people across the gender spectrum.

More context, please? What in the conversation got you wondering?

The first woman I ever kissed was a woman who was playing Frank in Rocky Horror while I was playing Janet. There's a make-out scene towards the end of the movie, and we usually just pretended to do stuff, but one night, Bess actually kissed me. All the way home, I thought about how soft her lips were.

Speaking of kissing, what I think is weird is that I know people -- people our age, and not Republicans or religious wackos, either -- who think that French kissing (or tongue kissing or whatever name you prefer) is gross and icky. I tend to think of French kissing as "real" kissing, and the closed-mouth kind as childlike. How do they live, those poor deprived folks?

I am not exactly monosexual, but I'm also not true-to-the-letter bisexual either.

However, this is not to say that I've not made out with more than a few women in my life. I have, and enjoyed it greatly.

I like kissing. I like kissing boys and girls.
I only have sex with boys but am not inflexible when it comes to girls...

So we need a 3rd category for those of us who are not strictly bisexual, but not exactly straight either because we are gender-flexible when it comes to kissing/making out/snogging.

I'm not sure I could answer False if the question included the clause "while not under the influence of mind-altering drugs, including alcohol". My misspent youth was far too long ago to remember such details. :)
