oy indeed. you'd think people who could afford a marketing campaign could maybe afford an editor to grammar-check that campaign, but apparently, not so much.

Today's Boston Globe typo: shopping in the "fish isle".

I have this vision of a large store with an island and a moat surrounding it filled with fish. If you want to get a fish for dinner, you cross a bridge to the isle and then ask one of the nice young men in their clean white coats to use their one of nets to catch a fish for you.

Indeed, it is cringe-worthy.

Recently the Globe quoted someone as saying, "She was quite literally a beacon." Maybe that could be excused becaue it's a quote, but I find typos and errors in that paper all the time.

Hm. I wonder what On is. Or is the product Your On. Either way, VERY badly thought out, not to mention badly branded as i'm reading it.

Yeah, that was my thought too: it's a product name. (Clearly I've been spending too much time with marketing types recently.) And for those of you who need to destroy your hard drive and its sensitive data, there's "Your Off", not to be confused with "You're Off!" which is what you spray on to try to keep those pesky marketers^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hosquitoes away.

I saw this a few weeks ago and poked around on the internet and everything I found said that it was intentional, they mean for 'ON' to be a noun and for it to be yours. A much much better idea would have been something like The On is Yours or whatever, because then people wouldn't be assuming they made a mistake.

Oooooor, they caught it after everything went to print and quickly reframed the marketing campaign.
