That is funny, about the oldest thing I own that I bought myself is my biner for REI back in 1984 when I started climbing. It is the oldest posession except for childhood photos that I have.
And I was using it for a keychain way before it was popular.
I wouldn't trust Disney to give out real biners. It just looks an awful lot like one. Try to climb with it and it'll break into a happy bouncy song as it gaily plummets you down a sheer rock face.
If it is a real biner, it will give you a load rating stamped right into the metal. If it is a fake biner, it will usually say "not for climbing use" stamped right into the metal. (At least, I dearly hope that they wouldn't give out a fake biner faked so well that it had a load rating that is a complete lie!)
The invitation look like the ink is fading and falling off, but the biner and rope look shiny and new.
