George Rhoads (http://www.georgerhoads.com/) doesn't have a wikipedia page.
There was one, but it was deleted for being a "Biographical article that does not assert significance".
Anyone want to work with me on some appropriate assertion of significance?

Date: 2008-08-10 08:22 am (UTC)If you do something in your sandbox, I'll be happy to help, but truly, all you need to do is provide a couple links like, "(Newspaper) called his piece (title name) a (a triumph/a failure; both are notable)." and "His pieces appear in (notable places)." (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1148347 also usable to support that he gets coverage from bigger names), "Ithaca declared March 2008 to be George Rhoads month." (http://wskg.typepad.com/mixedmedia/2008/03/82-and-still-pa.html), and you'll have done all that's needed for notability. A very quick search indicates that shouldn't be hard.
In external links, see if you can find some good Youtube footage of his creations, especially ones in high traffic places. Geeks are less likely to delete quickly when you give them shiny things to look at.
Wikipedia is my fanfic.

There's biographical info here. He's also a writer and painter, and his other sculptures include clocks.
You could mention (in the wikipedia article) that he was influenced by Alexander Calder's mobiles.
Here's a list of his audiokinetic sculptures in public spaces.
