There have to be more songs about newscasters out there... I'm still debating if "What's The Frequency, Kenneth" counts.

Any suggestions?

How about 'Dirty Laundry' by Don Henley?

While we're attacking frontally
We'll watch Brink-a-ley and Hunt-a-ley
Describing contrapuntally
The cities we have lost

- "So Long Mom, I'm Off to Drop the Bomb" Tom Lehrer

Because America can
And America can't say no
And America does
If America says it's so
It's so
And the anchorperson on TV
Goes la-di-da-di-da

Newscasters I can't help you with, especially if you want specifics.

Newspapers I can help you with, starting with Public Enemy's Letter to the New York Post. News of the World by The Jam. Ballad of a Thin Man. Journalists Who Lie by Morrisey.

Oh! Simon and garfunkel's Silent Night with the news caster broadcasting about MLK's death over it?

My brain is saying that Paul Weller did something with the Style Council as well, on the theme, but maybe I'm crossing that with his stuff with The Jam from earlier.

I don't suppose a former talk show host counts...?

Well, if you're doing former talk show hosts, you can't do much better than the Beach Boys' Johnny Carson. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dHyTmB2C5Q)

Dar Williams, "Are You Out There"? Not *quite* about newscasters, but definitely about listening to the radio...

And if you stretch the definition of "newscaster", there's Stephen Stephen by the Apples in Stereo.

I was thinking about ELO's "Here is the News", but that is also more about a news program or listening to a news program than about an announcer. Or there is Howard Cosell's famous segment of "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights", but that is BY a famous announcer, not about him...

That was Phil Rizzuto, not Howard Cosell.
