JB's Miscellaneous Ramblings

I'm turning 40 this year. Woo hoo!
It's time to party. Please come and join me!

Saturday, October 27th, from 2pm-later.

In a quest to not cause crushing, heat exhaustion and other unpleasantries, we have made arrangements with Scott and Rachel to have the party at their house in Melrose. Hopefully the weather will be reasonable and it will be an indoor-outdoor party most of the day, but even if it's more like late November rather than late October, there's more room there than at the current Lab, so come and have fun!
If you need address or directions to Scott & Rachel's just let us know.

We'll be supplying a reasonable amount of food, but everything's better when it's potluck! :) We're not going to try to organize who brings what, but if you want to make me happy, you'll leave out bell peppers and mushrooms. (Of course, it's not like I have to eat everything, but still...:)

I know this is the weekend before Halloween and that there are almost certainly other parties going on that night. That's fine! Come by before, come by after. Come by in costume, or come by in plain-clothes.
The important part is that you come by! :) A prize to anyone who dresses in some Gorey-esque fashion (no, not blood&gore but that neat mix of Victorian-Goth as drawn so well by Edward Gorey)

Presents are not at all required, but who would I be to forbid them? :)

The very merry and happy residents of GLSE would like to invite you and yours to join us for our annual Holiday Open House on Wedneday, December 28th, 7p.-Midnight.


Eat, drink, be merry, make origami, enjoy conversation, check out the kissing ball, play games, etc.

There will be plenty of origami paper for various creations, hot cider, eggnog, Glogg, tea, soup (both veg and carnivore), hot bread, veggies&dip, etc.

We know that some of you may be may out of town or traveling or away and that this date conflicts with a few birthdays (sorry!) but we'd love to see everyone who has the time and inclination to stop by ...

A few disclaimers:

*We are a multi-adult mulit-celebratory household. As such, you will find a Christmas tree, menorahs and a yule log on display. This gathering isn't about a particular holiday but if the mere sight of such things offends you, we will cheerfully offer you a blindfold or bid you adieu.

*We will be lighting a second menorah around 7:30-8p. for those who might enjoy lighting and singing with us.

*Yes, this coincides with OPN

*We are a non-smoking household. This includes our upper-level porch.

*We have two indoor cats. Medicate accordingly, don't let them out, don't chase them.

*Our house welcomes people of all sizes/ages but isn't child-safe so please keep an eye on your little ones.
